چکیده
Motion sickness (MS) or kinetosis is a sensory-motor dys function caused by a mismatch between the visual ly perceived movement and its neural integration with the proprioceptive and vestibular system1,2. As a result of this mismatch balance, gait and locomotion anomalies appear, which worsens the disabling dysautonomia that such mismatch originates1,3-5. These neural disorders debut during land, marine, and aerospace motion, among others conditions1,2. MS can be developed in up to 39% of airplane pilot students6,7. Of remark, kinetosis is present in up to 91% of the human factors involved in aerial accidents3. Despite repeated exposure to environmental conditions simulating kinetosis, MS appears

Vestibular feedback maintains reaching accuracy during body movement
KEY POINTS Reaching movements can be perturbed by vestibular input, but the function of this response is unclear. Here, we applied galvanic vestibular stimulation concurrently with real body movement while subjects maintained arm position either fixed in space or fixed with respect to their body. During the fixed-in-space conditions, galvanic vestibular stimulation caused large changes in arm t...
متن کاملVestibular Stimulation and Auditory Perception in Children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
Objectives: Rehabilitation strategies play a pivotal role in reliving the inappropriate behaviors and improving children's performance during school. Concentration and visual and auditory comprehension in children are crucial to effective learning and have drawn interest from researchers and clinicians. Vestibular function deficits usually cause high level of alertness and vigilance, and proble...
متن کاملEffects of Vestibular and Tactile Stimulation on Behavioral Disorders due to Sensory Processing Deficiency in 3-13 Years Old Iranian Autistic Children
Objectives: Among the most important problems of autistic children are the behavioral disorders due to sensory processing deficiency, which are typically reflected in behaviors such as impulsivity, attention and concentration disorders, undesirable emotional reactions, sensory seeking in the form of stereotype behaviors, self-injury and self-stimulating. The present study aimed at exploring the...
متن کاملSomatosensory loss increases vestibulospinal sensitivity.
To determine whether subjects with somatosensory loss show a compensatory increase in sensitivity to vestibular stimulation, we compared the amplitude of postural lean in response to four different intensities of bipolar galvanic stimulation in subjects with diabetic peripheral neuropathy (PNP) and age-matched control subjects. To determine whether healthy and neuropathic subjects show similar ...
متن کاملDevelopmental expression of tyrosine kinase b in rat vestibular nuclear neurons responding to horizontal and vertical linear accelerations
Brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) is known to be crucial for the development of peripheral vestibular neurons. However, the maturation profile of the BDNF signal transducing receptor, tyrosine kinase B (TrkB) in functionally activated otolith-related vestibular nuclear neurons of postnatal rats remains unexplored. In the present study, conscious Sprague-Dawley rats (P4 to adult) were sub...
